Mississippi State football 2016: Biggest strengths and weaknesses

As coach Dan Mullen and the Mississippi State football team prepare for the 2016 season, here are the biggest strengths and weaknesses heading into fall camp.

Offense

Biggest positive: Coach Dan Mullen’s ability to adjust. The Bulldogs have averaged 30 points per game since Mullen arrived in 2009 and that is with four different quarterbacks, all running a variation of Mullen’s version of the spread. You have to like the Bulldogs’ chances on offense with Mullen’s ability to adjust based on personnel. He does have two playmakers in WRs Fred Ross and Malik Dear. The Bulldogs should be able to use those guys in a variety of ways to create yards and also to use them as decoys to get the ball into other skilled-position players’ hands.
