STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State dropped a gritty 24-10 game to Auburn Saturday night at Davis Wade Stadium.
Points were tough to come by in the game, with the teams trading nothing but field goals through the first three quarters of play.
Auburn (6-4) took a 3-0 lead midway through the first quarter when junior kicker Anders Carlson connected from 27 yards out. MSU (2-7) then answered with when junior kicker Brandon Ruiz connected on a 41-yard field goal to make it 3-3 with 5:27 left in the half. The Tigers would then retake the at 6-3 when Carlson made a 37-yard kick as time expired in the first half.
