NASHVILLE — The Mississippi State football team ended the 2019 season with a 38-28 loss in the Music City Bowl at Nissan Stadium Monday evening.
With the loss, the Bulldogs end the season with a 6-7 (3-5 SEC) record, while the Cardinals finish with an 8-5 record.
The Bulldogs used an eight-play 99-yard drive, which was capped off by a 3-yard run by senior quarterback Tommy Stevens, to take a 7-0 led with 4:48 left in the first quarter. Senior running back Nick Gibson then capped off an 80-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown run of his own to extend the MSU lead to 14-0 with 10:19 left in the half.
