The Bulldogs couldn't keep up with the No. 4 ranked Crimson Tide and fell on the road last night.
Mississippi State's (21-16, 2-8 SEC) struggles continued last night against the Alabama Crimson Tide (33-1, 6-4 SEC) in Tuscaloosa as the Bulldogs dropped game one of the series 7-1.
The Tide jumped out to an early 7-0 lead through two innings on junior Alexis Silkwood and the Bulldogs could never quite turn their fortunes around. Silkwood threw 2.1 innings, surrendering seven runs total, but only four of which were earned as Alabama's first three runs on the board were all due to a fielding error.
