Mississippi State's (20-10, 1-3 SEC) trip up to Knoxville got off to a bumpy start tonight as the Bulldogs would drop game one 6-2 to Tennessee (23-8, 4-3 SEC).
The Bulldogs started the game off strong with some clutch two-out hitting that has been fairly common as of late. After Kayla Winkfield and Calyn Adams both struck out, Katie Anne Bailey was able to get on base off of a muffed pitch. Amanda Ivy would then hit a double to right center field that would bring Bailey home. Mackenzie Toler would keep the exciting start going by singling out to left field which would bring MSU's early lead to 2-0.
