Mississippi State center Aric Holman to have knee surgery

Mississippi State Bulldogs freshman center Aric Holman will undergo microfracture surgery this week and could end up missing the entire 2015-16 season. The Bulldogs’ basketball program reported the unfortunate news on Twitter.

Injury bug strikes again. Aric Holman will have knee surgery this week (patellofemoral disorder). Could be lost for year.

First-year head coach Ben Howland hoped that the 6-foot-10 Holman would provide depth up front playing alongside Gavin Ware and Fallou Ndoye, and that plan is now in jeopardy. The injury bug has not been kind to the boys from Starkville this offseason, as Holman now makes five players that have undergone surgery prior to the 2015-16 season.
