The Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team had a nice winning streak going. Up until they invited the Utah Valley Wolverines to come play in Starkville. In the first game of a doubleheader, Mississippi State dropped to Utah Valley in extra innings 2 runs to 1.
The starting pitchers both dueled for quite some time, keeping the game a low scoring affair. Through 11 innings of play, both teams only scored a combined 3 runs. MSU’s ace Konnor Pilkington got the start for the Bulldogs and performed well. Through 7 innings, Pilkington threw 95 pitches and struck out 12 batters.
