Mississippi State Baseball Falls In Opening Round Of SEC Tournament

HOOVER, Ala. — Despite leading for most of the first six innings of the game, Mississippi State baseball (31-25, 15-15 SEC) fell 8-5 to the LSU Tigers (34-23, 16-15 SEC) in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament Tuesday night at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

The Dawgs got on the board first in the top of the third inning. Rowdey Jordan hit a lead off single. After Tanner Allen flew out, Hunter Stovall hit a single of his own. Justin Foscue later doubled and scored both runners to give MSU a 2-0 lead.

In the next inning, State loaded the bases on three walks and then scored a run on a sacrifice fly by Allen yo push the lead to 3-0.
