OMAHA. Neb. — The sixth-seeded Mississippi State Diamond Dawgs fell victim to a late-game rally on Thursday as they were eliminated from the College World Series by seven-seed Louisville, 4-3, inside TD Ameritrade Park.
MSU’s appearance in the College World Series caps the program’s 11th trip to Omaha, and its first under first-year head coach Chris Lemonis. The Dawgs end the season with a 52-15 record, which is good for the second most wins in program history,
The Dawgs took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed until the ninth inning.
