HOOVER Ala. — A 12-2 loss Friday night to LSU at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium sealed No. 5 Mississippi State baseball’s fate at the 2019 Southeastern Conference Tournament.
MSU opened the SEC Tournament with a 6-5 win over LSU in a 17-inning battle on Wednesday. State then dropped a 1-0 game to Vanderbilt on Thursday before Friday’s 12-2 loss to LSU eliminated MSU from the tournament.
Hitting woes continued for State (46-13), as the Dawgs were limited to just five hits in the contest. Sophomore Rowdey Jordan (2-for-2) and junior Dustin Skelton (2-for-3) were responsible for two hits in the contest.
