Mississippi State baseball came out and claimed game one of the series against the No. 3 Ole Miss Rebels with no issues. Mississippi State beat their rival Ole Miss 13-3 thanks to dominant pitching, stellar hitting, and some lights out fielding.
Konnor Pilkington took the mound and finally got the run support that he’s been deserving of all season. Pilkington had no issue mowing through the Rebels’ lineup, striking out 7 batters in the game. Though he allowed 3 runs to be scored, only two of those runs were earned.
While Pilkington sat Ole Miss down with ease, Ole Miss’ pitchers didn’t have as much luck in game one.
