The New Mexico State Aggies found a way to stifle Mississippi State’s bats. The Bulldogs, against starting pitcher Alex Pinedo, simply couldn’t plate a single run. Pinedo struck out 6 batters in 5.2 innings. And it looked like he’d continue to perform well all night.
Until he got to the 6th inning, that is.
As it turns out, Pinedo more or less met his match in the 6th inning. Things kinda came unraveled for the Aggies’ pitcher there. And before Pinedo knew it, he had allowed the Mississippi State Bulldogs to load the bases. With the bases loaded and two outs, he then gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead by walking a run across home plate.
