Neither of these two teams should be in the College World Series.
At least, that’s what conventional wisdom would say.
Teams that lose their head coach early on and march around in the mire of mediocrity halfway through the season probably shouldn’t be able to turn things around, win the Tallahassee Regional, beat Vandy in their own place, and make it to the College World Series.
But that’s exactly what the Mississippi State baseball team did.
Teams that go 10-13 against teams outside of their conference probably should turn out to be one of the better teams in the Pac-12.
