Vann Stuedeman’s Mississippi State softball team (12-4 overall, 0-0 SEC) needed a big play to put the Bulldogs over the Memphis Tigers (5-9 overall, 0-0 AAC) late in the game. And, well, the Bulldogs actually happened to get a couple of big plays in the form of two grand slams tonight. Mississippi State certainly needed both to get the win against the Tigers.
The Bulldogs were able to get the game going on a solid start thanks to a two-run top of the 1st inning, putting MSU ahead 2-0 early on. But thanks to a sloppy bottom of the 2nd inning, Mississippi State found itself down 5-2 heading into the 3rd.
