What a splash Ally McDonald is making as professional golfer.
Less than a month as pro, the former Mississippi State All-American and Fulton native won her first tournament, the 22nd Michigan Women’s Open Championship.
Then late Tuesday, she learned she qualified for the 70th U.S. Women’s Open, which begins Thursday in Lancaster, Pa., at the par-70, 6,483-yard Lancster Country Club.
McDonald, who rewrote the MSU record book, will tee off at 7:24 a.m. CT and will be paired with the United State’s Austin Ernst and South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace, the 2012 WPGA Golfer of the Year.
