Mangum claims seventh All-American honor

Jake Mangum received his seventh All-American distinction as Perfect Game picked the Mississippi State outfielder to its Freshman All-American team.

Mangum is one of three players from the SEC selected to the first team joining Florida third baseman Jonathan India and Vanderbilt designated hitter Alonzo Jones.

Mangum won the SEC batting title with a .408 average and is the first freshman to lead the league in hitting since Aaron Westlake of Vanderbilt in 2009.

The Pearl native is the seventh Bulldog to top the SEC in batting average and first freshman to do so.
