Mississippi State’s Jake Mangum was selected to his sixth All-American team on Monday as Baseball America added the outfielder as a first team Freshman All-American.
Mangum led the Southeastern Conference with a .408 batting average while also contributing 84 hits, 12 doubles, three triples, a home run, 28 RBIs and six stolen bases for the Bulldogs.
The Pearl native was one of only three SEC freshman named to the first team joining Florida third baseman Jonathan India and South Carolina pitcher Braden Webb.
Mangum is the first MSU player picked as a Freshman All-American by Baseball America since Brandon Turner in 2007.
