Mississippi State was coming off 2 tough losses. An OT loss to Kentucky, and an 18 point loss at home(in front of a record 10,500 fans) to a Tennessee squad that lost its first game of the SEC Tournament to #12 seeded Alabama. It’s safe to say Mississippi State needed a win badly and win they did receive. Mississippi State had a 56-51 lead with 5:23 to play, but the Bulldogs used a 22-10 run to end the game.
Morgan William led the way with 21 points. McCowan added 15 points to give the Bulldogs a comfortable win.
