Mississippi State lost another player to professional baseball on Friday as catcher Jack Kruger signed with the Los Angeles Angels.
Kruger signed a $395,000 contract on deadline day after the Angels selected him with the 606th overall pick in the 20th round. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder from Calabasas, California had until Friday to agree to terms with Los Angeles or return to MSU for his senior season.
Kruger started 54 of the 56 games in which he appeared hitting .344 with 19 doubles, eight home runs, 40 RBIs and six stolen bases during his lone season in Starkville.
