Mississippi State baseball got spring break started off on the right foot with a 2-0 shutout victory over the South Alabama Jaguars last night.
The Bulldogs were carried to victory thanks to Konnor Pilkington’s career high 13 strikeouts against the 30 batters that he faced. In his time on the mound, Pilkington held the Jaguars to a meager 4 hits that they were unable to do anything with.
The Bulldogs had a rather modest day at the plate themselves as they did not look anything like the version that we saw a couple of weekends ago. But they were able to score 2 runs off of 6 hits with Brent Rooker and Dustin Skelton combining for 3 of those hits and 2 RBIs.
