The Mississippi State men’s basketball team had good news waiting to greet them after they arrived back from Italy.
The Bulldogs learned Monday that four-star freshman forward Mario Kegler had been cleared academically and is eligible to play this season. Kegler was unable to travel with the team to Italy until the NCAA ruled on his eligibility.
Orginally from Jackson, Kegler is a 6-foot-7, 230-pounder out of Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. He was rated the No. 8 small forward in the country and the 52nd-best prospect overall nationally by 247Sports.com.
Kegler is one of six true freshmen to enroll of Ben Howland‘s 2016 signing class.
