Well, after winning the first SEC Regular Season Championship since 1989 and guiding the Bulldogs to host a Super Regional, John Cohen has been given a four year contract extension.
The extension should come as no surprise as the Bulldogs would like to keep the 2016 SEC Coach of the Year around for the foreseeable future. After setting a new school record of SEC wins with 21 this past season, taking 9 of 10 SEC series, beating LSU, Florida, and Vanderbilt, and going 3-1 against Ole Miss, this sort of extension should have been expected. With the new contract, Cohen will now be with Mississippi State through 2020 but possibly even longer than that.
