When Joe Moorhead arrived in Starkville, he started talking about setting a “championship standard.” Mississippi State football fans were obviously on board with the idea of winning the SEC and maybe one day competing for a national title. Moorhead was getting a highly talented team that won 9 games a season ago. There was little reason to doubt that this season could be a great one.
But this season isn’t a great one.
In fact, 2018 has been an incredible disappointment. The offense is floundering as it tries to adapt to Moorhead’s schemes and the Bulldogs are wasting one of the best defenses that MSU has ever seen.
