SANDESTIN, Fla. – Mississippi State signee Jeffery Simmons, who was caught on video hitting a woman on the ground earlier this year, has been admitted to the university “under conditions,” Gridiron Now has learned.
Those conditions include a complete evaluation by the counseling staff at the university and a suspension for the first game of the 2016 season against South Alabama, a source involved in the decision told GN.
Simmons, a five-star recruit considered to be the best player in Mississippi in the 2016 signing class, was arrested in March and charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor.
