Mississippi State junior A.J. Jefferson had his name added to the midseason watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, given annually to the nation’s top defensive end.
Jefferson has started all eight games for the Bulldogs this season. Jefferson has made 38 tackles and leads the team with 11.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.
The 6-foot-3, 277-pounder from Summitt has made a stop behind the line of scrimmage in eight of his last nine games and his 22.5 career tackles for loss ranks 10th in school history.
Jefferson is one of 32 players selected to the watch list.
