Mississippi State added a commitment for its 2019 class Wednesday from junior college offensive tackle Montravious Richardson.

Richardson, originally from Albany, Ga., signed with Mississippi State as a three-star recruit in 2017, but academic issues caused him to enroll at Mississippi Delta CC. Richardson told GN a few hours after he committed that he chose to commit Wednesday for one reason – for his grandmother Kathy.

“The reason I picked today to commit is because today is my grandma’s birthday and I wanted to surprise her,” Richardson said. “I did that just for her.”
