Hudson named SEC Pitcher of the Week

Mississippi State junior right-hander Dakota Hudson was selected as the SEC’s Pitcher of the Week following his outstanding outing against Vanderbilt last Friday.

Hudson pitched a career-high nine innings without allowing an earned run with eight strikeouts and giving up just four hits and two walks. The Commodores failed to have an extra base hit against him.

It is the second straight week for the Bulldogs to have a player recognized by the league as Brent Rooker earned SEC Player of the Week last week. Hudson is the first MSU hurler to claim the honor since teammate Vance Tatum did so on March 2, 2015.
