Holman could miss season after knee surgery

Mississippi State’s already thin frontcourt just got thinner as freshman forward Aric Holman will undergo potential season-ending surgery on his left knee this week.

The microfracture surgery is to correct a patellofemoral disorder and is expected to keep him off the court for four months. At that time, Holman will be evaluated to see if he can suit up for SEC play or will redshirt.

“I really hate this for Aric,” MSU coach Ben Howland said. “He has worked so hard this summer to improve and prepare for college basketball. I know he’ll do everything he can to recover and put himself in a position to come back stronger.
