Starkville, Miss — Dan Mullen is getting good at breaking records in Starkville. Saturday night, he did it again.
The 37-7 whipping his Bulldogs put on LSU was largest margin of victory by Mississippi State in the history of this series which dates back to 1896. Forget blowouts, MSU hadn’t beaten LSU at home – by any margin – since 1999.
Here are five important takeaways from the Bulldogs’ win.
Nick Fitzgerald is special
The MSU quarterback completed 15 passes for 180 yards and rushed for 90 more. He and Mullen had LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda guessing all night.
