Adam Frazier became the 55th player in Mississippi State history to be called up to the Major Leagues.
The Pittsburgh Pirates called up the 24-year old shortstop following his Triple-A game on Thursday. Frazier joins the Pirates for their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.
Frazier was hitting .333 with 16 doubles, four triples, 22 RBIs and 17 stolen bases for the Indianapolis Indians this season.
The Athens, Georgia native was a 6th round pick by Pittsburgh in 2013.
Frazier is the fourth member of the Bulldogs’ 2013 College World Series finalist team to make it to the majors joining Kendall Graveman, Jacob Lindgren and Chad Girodo.
