Former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott had a breakout season for the Dallas Cowboys as a rookie last season. One reason why may be credited to his leadership.
“Leading comes to me naturally,” Prescott said Monday on the “Doomsday Podcast.” “It’s tough as a rookie to call the team up to the huddle with guys like Travis Frederick, Jason Witten and Sean Lee but those situations came up (last fall). Those guys did a great job calling me out to break us down (at the end of practice).”
Last season, Prescott, taken in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft, unexpectedly became the Cowboys’ starter and guided the team to a 13-3 record and an NFC East title.
