Former Mississippi State public address announcer Hank Flick dies at 73

Mississippi State is mourning the loss of a longtime voice that’s well known for generations of Bulldogs students and fans.

Longtime Mississippi State public address announcer and communications professor Hank Flick died at age 73, the university announced Thursday.

Flick, part of the school for 45 years, had served as public address announcer for Bulldogs football and basketball until 2009.

He had also taught in the Mississippi State communications department from 1971 until 2016, when he retired from teaching.

The university has a scholarship, the Hank Flick Outstanding Service Scholarship, dedicated to students majoring in communications who have an excellent record of service for the school and the community.
