Former Bulldog Sirmones killed

Former Mississippi State tight end C.J. Sirmones Jr. was shot and killed Tuesday night in Tennessee.

According to a release from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, officers were dispatched to a scene where, upon arrival, deputies encountered Yancey Williams who stated he had shot Sirmones during an argument.

Sirmones was then found deceased due to a fatal gunshot wound.

Williams was arrested and charged with second degree murder. He is being held at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department under a $400,000 secure bond.

Sirmones is best known by Mississippi State fans for his role in the 1999 Egg Bowl.
