Ex-Mississippi State mascot drops school from lawsuit

Michaela Mills, who served as “Bully” the Mississippi State mascot during football games, has dropped the school from a lawsuit she filed against ESPN after was injured in 2013.

The Jackson (Miss.) Clarion-Ledger reports that Mills is seeking $75,000 from the network.

While dressed as “Bully,” her left leg was run over by a golf cart driven by an ESPN employee. She is suing for damages from the accident, which caused a compound fracture to her tibia and fibula. Mills’ suit said the ESPN employee driving the cart was “not paying attention during an exciting portion” of the Bulldogs’ 17-10 overtime win over Ole Miss in 2013.
