Erica Bougard already qualified for nationals and will compete in three events in the NCAA Championships later this month. She won the SEC heptathlon title and broke multiple MSU and SEC meet records along the way. And Tuesday she added yet another accomplishment to that list by grabbing SEC Field Athlete of the Year honors.
At the SEC Championships, Bougard broke the MSU school and SEC meet heptathlon record by scoring 6.250 points in the event. She also broke the MSU school high jump record by clearing 6-00.75. And at the NCAA East Preliminaries last week, she was a part of the 4x400 relay team that set a school record running a time of 3:32.
