Mississippi State battled LSU to the bitter end, but lost in 14 innings by a final of 5-3. The Dawgs had a number of chances to win the game but things just did not go their way.
After getting out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, State could not muster any more runs until the 9th inning. After just four innings from Lucas Laster, Zac Houston (look out as he is coming on strong) delivered five solid innings without giving up a run. That gave MSU a chance heading into the bottom of the 9th down 3-2.
