Simmons, a five-star defensive end, was the crown jewel of Mississippi State’s recruiting class. A lot of schools wanted Simmons, including rivals Ole Miss and Alabama. He is, if you believe the recruiting experts, a difference-maker.
But things changed in March when Simmons was arrested on simple assault charges. The arrest took place after video surfaced of Simmons hitting a woman on the ground multiple times. The woman had been pushed to the ground by another woman, identified as Simmons’ sister.
