Former Mississippi State cornerback Darius Slay is a lot richer than he was when he woke up yesterday morning. Slay, who played with the Bulldogs in 2011 and 2012, has signed a contract extension with the Detroit Lions through 2020.

Slay has made 36 starts for the Lions over the past three seasons since he was drafted by Detroit in 2013. 32 of those 36 starts have come in the past two seasons as he’s worked his way up to be a full-time starter. In the 45 games that Slay has played for the Lions he has accumulated 154 career combined tackles, 4 interceptions, and 35 passes defended.
