Mississippi State announced Thursday that defensive end Jeffery Simmons – make that five-star defensive end Jeffery Simmons – would be allowed to enroll even though he faces misdemeanor assault charges for hitting a woman in a fight. The school said he was being admitted under special conditions and that he would be suspended for the first game of the season, against South Alabama.
