Today, Mississippi State starting quarterback Dak Prescott was named to the 2015 Maxwell Award watch list. Prescott, along with 79 other college football players, were named to the prestigious list. The Maxwell Award is given to “America’s College Player of the Year,” and has been given to players since 1937.
Prescott is the only returning finalist from last year’s Maxwell Award list following his phenomenal junior season. Last year, Dak Prescott led Mississippi State to its first 10-win regular season in school history. Being named a Finalist for the Maxwell Award means that Dak Prescott was one of the top three players in the country according to the Maxwell Football Club.
