Mississippi State saw its fourth signee selected on Day 3 of the MLB Draft on Wednesday.
Southpaw pitcher Jared Padgett was picked by the Chicago Cubs in the 26th round (773rd overall).
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder from Graceville, Fla., announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he would be attending college and had turned down third round slot money.
Padgett was selected as an Perfect Game All-American and a Florida 2nd team All-Region pick.
