Gavin Collins and the Cleveland Indians came to terms on Monday agreeing to a $100,000 contract.

The former Mississippi State third baseman was selected in the 13th round with the 392nd overall pick but the Indians drafted Collins as a catcher.

Collins started 60 games as a junior batting .302 with 14 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs and 39 RBIs.

The Lake Forest, California native was the first Bulldog to be drafted by Cleveland since Joseph Hunter in 2005.

Collins is the eighth MSU junior to ink a professional contract leaving only Reid Humphreys, Jack Kruger and Brent Rooker as Diamond Dogs that have not signed.
