Clayborn on Rimington Trophy watch list

Mississippi State senior Jamaal Clayborn was selected to the Rimington Trophy fall watch list which is presented annaully to the nation’s top center.

Clayborn started 12 games for the Bulldogs last season, playing a team-high 848 snaps. The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder from Jackson has appeared in 23 games during his career.

Clayborn is one of eight centers from the Southeastern Conference named to the watch list. He is the first MSU center on the list since Dillon Day in 2014.

The Rimington Trophy will be presented on Jan. 14. Former Alabama center Ryan Kelly claimed the award last year.
