BILOXI – Jake Mangum’s RBI-single in the bottom half of the 14th inning lifted the No. 11 Mississippi State baseball team to a 1-0 win over Louisiana-Monroe Wednesday night at MGM Park.
Playing for the first time at the new home of the Biloxi Shuckers, MSU (25-12-1) thrilled with what remained of the 4,472 in attendance by winning its longest game of the season. Louisiana-Monroe fell to 15-22.
“We used a bunch of arms that needed some work,” MSU head coach John Cohen said. “We really didn’t need to play 14 innings, but we got a lot of guys a lot of good work in pressure situations.
