Mississippi State received its third preseason top 20 ranking on Wednesday as Perfect Game picked the Diamond Dogs No. 17 in its poll.
MSU was also ranked 11th by Collegiate Baseball and 15th by D1Baseball.com.
The Bulldogs were one of six Southeastern Conference programs in Perfect Game’s top 25 joining top-ranked Florida, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 LSU and No. 15 Missouri.
State was the only team among the Perfect Game 25 to not make the postseason last year. John Cohen‘s club is coming off a 24-30 campaign last spring and finished last in the conference with an 8-22 mark.
