Knoxville, Tenn. - The 2018 SEC men's tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year was announced today by the conference office. The award was presented to Mississippi State's Nuno Borges as part of the conference tournament.
Borges is a junior at Mississippi State majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Not only is Borges one of the top overall athletes at MSU, but he is also one of the top collegiate tennis players, consistently ranking in the top five in singles.
The Maia, Porto, Portugal, product has equally excelled in the classroom, as he was awarded the 2017 Newsom Award, which is annually presented to the top student-athlete in each MSU sport.
