Ben Howland‘s highly-rated 2016 recruiting class at Mississippi State expanded to seven players on Monday as three-star power forward E.J. Datcher joined the fold.
Datcher, a 6-foot-9, 250-pounder, chose the Bulldogs over offers from South Alabama and UAB and is rated as the No. 3 prospect in Alabama.
Datcher averaged 18 points, 14 rebounds and 3.1 blocks as a senior at Vincent High School. He missed most of his junior season with a torn meniscus.
MSU’s class is rated seventh nationally by 247Sports as Datcher joins four-star signees Mario Kegler, Schnider Herard, Tyson Carter, Lamar Peters, Eli Wright and Abdul Ado.
