Daniel Brown became the first Mississippi State draftee to sign a professional contract.
The left-handed pitcher agreed to a $225, 500 contract with the Milwaukee Brewers according to MLB.com writer Jim Callis. The Brewers took Brown in the seventh round with the 201st overall pick.

The Mount Vernon, Texas native pitched in 23 games as a junior this past season including six starts. Brown was 4-2 with two saves, a 3.62 ERA, 54 strikeouts and 18 walks over 54 2/3 innings.
