Blog – MSU’s McLendon becomes 1st female president Of SEC Sports Medicine Committee

Mississippi State Director of Sports Medicine Mary McLendon, MESS, ATC/L was elected president of the Southeastern Conference Sports Medicine Committee during the 2015 SEC Sports Medicine Conference in Opelika, Ala.

McLendon, who has been overseeing the department since 2010, became the first female to be elected president of the committee.

“The athletic trainers and doctors in the SEC are the finest in the nation, and I am very honored that they have elected me to represent them in this position,” McLendon said.

As president, she will serve a two-year term and be the liaison between the SEC office and head athletic trainers at member schools.
