Mississippi State’s Preston Brown will not pitch next season for the Bulldogs. Instead, he will attend medical school a team spokesperson confirmed Friday.

The right hander is coming off his junior year in which he made 14 appearances, all 14 of those being starts. He compiled a 5-8 record and threw one complete game. He pitched 71 2/3 innings and recorded 54 strikeouts and only 26 walks. He gave up 38 earned runs on 87 hits.
Brown was primarily used as the Saturday starter during Southeastern Conference play.
